The Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space of the NAS of Ukraine provides training for candidates seeking the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) through its doctoral program. Doctoral studies represent the highest level of scientific training in Ukraine and are aimed at creating new scientific knowledge through original research with significant implications for the development of the respective field of science.

Admission Requirements

Admission to doctoral studies is competitive and open to individuals who hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Candidate of Sciences degree, have published scientific works in their chosen specialty, and possess research results that require completion or formalization as a doctoral dissertation.

Requirements for applicants:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Candidate of Sciences degree
  • Published scientific works in the chosen specialty
  • Detailed dissertation research plan (scientific report)
  • Written reference of the applicant’s scientific activities, prepared by a Doctor of Science who is a staff researcher at the Institute and agrees to serve as a scientific consultant
  • List of published scientific works and inventions

Specialties

Doctoral training is offered in the following specialties:

  • 113 — Applied Mathematics (field of knowledge 11 “Mathematics and Statistics”)
  • 122 — Computer Science (field of knowledge 12 “Information Technologies”)

Study Conditions

Duration: up to 2 years (full-time)

Funding: state budget (state order)

Doctoral students follow an individual research plan approved by the Institute’s Academic Council. Upon completion, doctoral candidates are expected to prepare and defend a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Science.

Admission Procedure

  1. Submit an application addressed to the Director of the Institute
  2. Review of documents and the applicant’s scientific report at a meeting of the relevant research department
  3. Recommendation by the Institute’s Academic Council for enrollment
  4. Enrollment by order of the Director of the Institute
